Landon Schofield

Landon Schofield was raised in South Central Idaho where he grew up hunting and fishing the mountains and alpine lakes of the Pacific Northwest.  From moving sprinkler pipe to driving tractor, growing up in Idaho afforded many opportunities to connect with the land.  He recognized early on the many different interest groups that depend on the land and wanted to be able to incorporate those different perspectives when answering conservation and management questions.

After graduation of high school, Schofield served a two-year mission for his church in Peru.  His time in Peru will forever influence his life as he grew to love the land and people of Peru.  Upon returning from Peru, he attended The College of Southern Idaho where he earned a degree in Biology with a natural resources emphasis.  Schofield then attended to the University of Idaho and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Resources and Geographic Information Systems in 2015.  Schofield was recruited by Louisiana State University to study the reproductive phenology and movement ecology of wild turkeys across the Southeastern United States.  There he earned his Master of Science in Wildlife Biology in 2019.  While in college Schofield had the opportunity to learn from and work for industry and agency leaders on a diverse array of projects.

Prior to graduating from LSU, Schofield had the opportunity to take a position with the East Foundation in 2018 and expand his knowledge of wildlife and rangeland management.  At the East Foundation, Schofield is charged with providing expertise related to range and wildlife management and associated research projects.  He delivers project management support and ensures data quality.  He works regularly with research partners and graduate students on projects ranging from prescribed fire to endangered species conservation.  Each day Schofield works to advance the long-term range and wildlife management priorities of the Foundation.

Schofield is humbled by the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of rangeland science and innovative solutions for ranch management.  Schofield and his wife Emily are the proud parents of two great and very energetic kids.
