Position Title: Ranch Operations Manager

Position Description:
This will be a ranch operations manager position, meaning the candidate will spend a large portion of their time working individually and with a team to implement ranch goals and objectives. The manager will also participate in the field on ranch development projects. The Ranch Manager will work directly with senior management in developing goals and strategies for overall ranch operations, including grazing and range management, promoting regenerative grazing on wet meadows, capital improvements, research projects, conservation projects, ranch development, and ranch maintenance.
Spring Lake Ranch is a 20,000-acre ranch located in the Sandhills of Nebraska. Spring Lake Ranch is a year-round yearling operation focused on producing organic feeder cattle for the company’s grass-fed beef label.
Qualifications:
- Yearling experience preferred.
- Herd Health Experience is required.
- Feed and Nutrition Experience are required.
- Experience with equipment operations, general equipment maintenance, fencing, and water development is required.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Some holidays are required.
- Good work ethic.
- Self-starter.
- Excellent people skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include overseeing all daily operations at Spring Lake Ranch, including the care and management of 1,200 yearlings in a year-round grazing program. Additionally, the operations manager will oversee the company’s finishing operation, consisting of 300 head grazing irrigated pivots. The successful candidate will oversee up to two full-time ranch employees.
