We were honored to meet with Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp to talk about our ranch management master’s program at Texas A&M-Kingsville and the dedication of the King Ranch family to preserving America’s ranching heritage. Chancellor Sharp, our director Dr. Clay Mathis, and alumnus, Tylor Braden, spent some time on King Ranch to talk about the benefits the program offers to graduate students and the ranching industry. The King Ranch® Institute for Ranch Management was created and endowed in 2003 in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the legendary King Ranch. The family members wanted to give back to the industry and collaborated with Texas A&M-Kingsville to create the only Master of Science in Ranch Management program in the world. Today, the program’s 38 alumni collectively manage 4 million acres of ranchland and wildlife habitat, 150,000 breeding cows, and 425 employees. We are determined to continue educating experienced ranchers to become progressive leaders in our field. Thank you to the Texas A&M University System and Chancellor Sharp for featuring us in a system video.
