Molli Foxley
Graduate Student – Class of 2028
Raised between Omaha, Nebraska, and Providence, Rhode Island, Molli grew up as a city kid with little exposure to agriculture, though animals have always been a passion of hers. Molli started at the University of Tennessee at Martin as a pre-veterinary student. She later attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, majoring in Animal Science and working as a student worker at LSU’s AgCenter’s Ben Hur Research Station’s Beef Unit. This is where her introduction to cattle began, and her passion continued to flourish as she focused her educational concentration on livestock production and management.
After graduating in December of 2018, she was a ranch management intern with the East Foundation and was hired the next summer as a unit foreman, overseeing two units. East Foundation’s partnership with the KRIRM gave Molli the privilege of interacting directly with students and alumni at lectureships, symposiums, and other events. Molli holds the knowledge and relationships gained through these events in high regard. “The connections and mentorships I have made with industry leaders are inspiring to continue to evolve, work hard, and love what I do.” It is these associations that inspired Molli to apply to KRIRM.
Molli has been in South Texas for the last seven years working in cow-calf, feedyard, and veterinary operations. She has involved herself in organizations, committees, and volunteer work to engage, learn, and give back to the communities that have given her so much. Molli’s passion for the industry and unconventional background offer an opportunity to learn from a different perspective and to set aspirations to become a leader in the industry.
As Molli enters the institute, she will be celebrating her tenth year in the cattle industry. She feels that continuing her education and working to become the best cattlewoman she can be by joining KRIRM is the perfect way to mark this milestone.
