This position offers a rare opportunity to lead a large-scale cow–calf operation within one of the most biologically rich regions of North America, where thoughtful management can have meaningful impacts on both agricultural productivity and environmental stewardship.
With more than 45 inches of annual rainfall across 20,000 acres in the Appalachian region, simply describing this ranch and its management opportunity as “unique” would be a gross understatement. Stuart Land & Cattle operates one of the largest and most diverse cow–calf operations in the eastern United States, where productive soils, abundant rainfall, and mountainous terrain combine to create an extraordinary working landscape.
Despite the rural setting, the ranch sits within 10 minutes of a grocery store, five minutes from an award-winning elementary school, and 45 minutes from nationally recognized dining, music festivals, outdoor recreation, and public lands. The result is a rare balance: the scale and independence of ranch life alongside the convenience and quality of life many families seek.
