Position Title: Ranch Foreman
Name of Ranch/Business: Las Palmas
Location: Barksdale, Texas
Position Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ranch Manager to oversee the operations of our ranch in the Texas Hill Country. The Ranch Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the ranch, including costs, wildlife & livestock care (whitetail deer, exotics, bison, cattle) equipment maintenance, and general upkeep of the property. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, heavy equipment / farm machinery operation, managerial skills as well as knowledge of wildlife ecology and land conservation.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices and techniques
- Proficiency in operating power tools, farm machinery, and heavy equipment
- Experience with conservation practices and land management
- Ability to perform equipment repairs and maintenance
- Knowledge of equine care is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of ranch, including overseeing animal care, equipment maintenance & overall upkeep of property
- Supervise ranch staff and provide guidance and training
- Develop and implement ranch policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of all animals on the ranch
- Implement brush clearing and reseeding native grasses program
- Coordinate with veterinarians for routine check-ups and medical treatments
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, power tools, and heavy equipment
- Perform equipment repairs as needed
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
Estimated Salary & Benefits: $75,000 – 85,000
