Shelby Horn

Shelby Horn is a sixth-generation cattleman. He was raised on a family-owned cow-calf and yearling operation with ranches in Louisiana, Texas and the Flint Hills of Kansas. He is currently the General Manager for Abell Livestock Company, a commercial cow-calf / stocker operator with ranches in Texas, Florida and New Mexico. Previous to his current role with Abell Livestock Company, Shelby served as managing partner and President of Great Plains Cattle Feeders, a commercial cattle feeding operation, located in the Texas Panhandle. Horn serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He is also a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Live Cattle Marketing Committee. He is a 1990 graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a 1996 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Master of Agriculture degree. He and his wife, Julie, reside in Fredericksburg, Texas, and are the parents of four children and four grandchildren.
