Position Title: Ranch Manager

Location: Fredonia, Texas
Position Description: River Crossing Ranch is a privately owned 14,000 acre ranch based in the Texas Hill Country. We are a working ranch with a cow/calf and a hunting operation. We are seeking an experienced Ranch Manager to oversee the operations of the entire ranch which includes the oversight, supervision and maintenance of all of the structures, cattle, hunting/wildlife, equipment, pastures, brush management, fences, wells, utilities and a staff of 8 employees.
We are willing to consider individuals, couples and families if they are a fit for this team. As a live in onsite Ranch Manager you will be expected to deal with any issue that may arise on the ranch at any time, however most work will occur inside of the ranch’s regular weekly business hours.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years ranching experience
- 2 or 4 year degree in Agriculture or Range Management preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and physical
- Ability to operate and communicate proficiently using a computer and smart phone
- A valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Ability to skillfully operate heavy equipment
- General mechanical knowledge of equipment
- Working knowledge of septic, well, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
- General working knowledge of facility utilities, construction and repairs
- Management skills to develop, lead and support the employees under your supervision
Responsibilities: As the ranch manager you will be expected to oversee the entire ranch operation.
The other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Range management/supervision of brush clearing personnel
- Work with contracted biologist to manage the wildlife through the MLD program
- Supervision of the hunting guide staff and the hunting program
- Supervision of the housekeeping staff continually ensuring that the structures are being maintained
- Supervision of the ranch landscape around structures and groundskeeping staff
- Supervision of equipment repair and preventative maintenance program
- Vehicle maintenance and care
- Housing and facility maintenance
- Monitoring and upkeep of water wells/windmills ,repairs performed by contractors
- Monitoring and coordination of work performed by outside contractors
- Management and monitoring of the ranch’s cattle operation
- Record keeping and administrative work between the ranch and the General Managers office
- Supervision , development, direction and support of the ranch staff.
Estimated Salary: Salary very competitive and commensurate with experience. Must include references (including past direct management confirmation of ranch experience & associated compensation of past positions required. Employer provided onsite housing with paid utilities.
