Position Title: Ranch Manager

Position Description:
We are an established and growing 600 head cow/calf operation in southwest Idaho seeking a Ranch Manager to step into a hands-on leadership role. The Ranch Manager is responsible for daily oversight and reporting of the operation while taking an active role in the day-to-day ranch operations. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently as well as working alongside ownership assisting in ranch improvements and growth. The ranch has invested significant resources into equipment and infrastructure and is looking to continue to develop herd size and genetics. Ranch Manager should possess a positive outlook for ranch expansion and have a vision for improving existing operations and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing a cow/calf operation of similar scale
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with ownership
- Hands-on operator who leads by example and has a friendly disposition
- Ability to think ahead, solve problems, and collaborate with ownership
- Experience with cattle health, calving, feeding, and herd management
- Comfortable with technology for record keeping and tracking
- Willingness to continuously learn and improve the operation
- High level of pride, accountability, and ownership in your work
- Good attitude, willingness to work together as a team and a positive outlook for ranch expansion
- No drugs, alcohol and a strong Christian faith
Key Responsibilities:
- Moving cattle between pastures. Learning deeded and leased land boundaries.
- Monitoring Cattle Health
- Doctoring sick calves and cattle
- Mineral placement and monitoring
- Processing, vaccinating and branding
- Detailed Record keeping and monthly expense reporting
- All aspects of hay production
- Fence monitoring and repair
Estimated Salary: DOE $70,000.00 including housing, utilities, health insurance stipend and annual ½ beef
