Position Title: Ranch and Wildlife Manager
Name of Ranch/Business: Underwood Ranch
Location: Sealy, Texas
Position Description: The candidate should have experience in and be proficient at:
- Range and wildlife management for Dove, Quail, Whitetail and Exotics;
- Managing the cattle operations manager with the cattle operation, to include breeding, record maintenance, working with and shipping cattle, marketing and handling cattle sales;
- Managing the hay operations manager with the hay operation to include cutting, racking, baling, accurate record keeping (inventory), condition of the grasses (nutrition, protein, etc.), marketing and sales;
- Knowledge of financials to include metrics, P&L statements, balance sheets and building budgets;
- Provide animal care for cattle and horses;
- Organize any activities for the family;
- Hire, train and supervise employees and contract labor;
- Manage third-party contractors and project budgets from initial concept to completion;
- Manage vendor relationships for supplies;
- Inspect, maintain and repair ranch structures (houses, buildings, fences, roads, gates, etc.) and equipment as needed and as listed on preventive maintenance schedule;
- Operate, maintain, and repair farm equipment;
- Maintain operational and maintenance records;
- Supervise the maintenance of the swimming pool;
- Supervise the landscaping and mowing of the grounds;
- Competency with “handy-man skills,” such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry;
- Water well knowledge and experience;
- Heavy equipment operator a plus;
- Report to ranch owner on regular basis;
- Computer skills including email, scan, fax, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
