Watch what Chance Muehlstein, King Ranch® Institute for Ranch Management graduate student, has to share about his Parker Ranch internship this past summer. Chance completed a project focusing on Key Performance Indicators that management and the board of directors can use to determine the ranch’s profitability and productivity, while also learning how the ranch works on a day-to-day basis. Chance plans to graduate from the Institute in the spring of 2019.
Each KRIRM graduate student completes a summer internship with a diverse, complex ranch after their first year of the program. Students work closely with ranch management and/or ownership to address real questions or issues the ranch is facing. Upon completing the internship, students present their findings to KRIRM faculty, ranch managers, owners, and other ranch supervisors. Past internships also include King Ranch, Deseret Cattle and Citrus, Hoodoo Ranch, Vermejo Park Ranch, and more.
Applications to the Master of Science in Ranch Management program at KRIRM are now open through March of 2019. Learn more about the program, admission requirements, and application process here.
