About the Certificate Program
With a generous donation in 2008 from Texas Farm Credit, the TFC Certificate in Advanced Ranch Management program was established for ranchers and landowners wishing to complete multiple learning events offered by KRIRM. This certificate prepares stakeholders to deal with complex issues in today’s ever-changing ranching industry. The lectureships are designed for anyone directly or indirectly involved in the ranching industry. The goal of the program is to enhance the environment of the ranching industry by educating not only ranch managers but also educators, ag loan officers, accountants, employees such as NRCS and BLM, landowners, extension service employees, and consultants.
In order to achieve the certificate, an individual must attend four KRIRM lectureships and two annual symposia within a 3-year time period. To date, 182 certificates have been awarded to individuals from 22 states, Mexico, and Nigeria. Lectureship topics include real estate law, prescribed burning, grazing management, equine management, genetic technology in beef cattle, cow-calf business management, systems thinking and more. In 2021, KRIRM will offer a brand new lectureship, Brush and Invasive Species Management.
