Position Title: Grower Yard Assistant Manager

Position Description:
Reeder Cattle Company a large, growing, and respected company within the cattle feeding industry is looking for a high-level Assistant Cattle Backgrounding Manager. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has been in a supervisory role with another company to take on the challenge of a larger operation to prove your capability and skillset within the industry. Also, there is always room to grow internally within the company over time.
Responsibilities:
This position will include but is not limited to:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a large backgrounding cattle operation including property, facilities, and employees
- Effectively manage, develop, and LEAD the team
- Oversee of all safety standards and compliances
- Work and communicate with upper management toward overall business goals and maintaining accurate records.
- Participate in and/or lead up company projects
- Strive to maximize profitability and operational efficiency
- Provide animal well-being for cattle/horses and incorporate low stress handling.
- Repair and maintain farm/ranch equipment and infrastructures such as fences, water tanks, roads, corals, water systems, housing, and buildings
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of supervisor/management experience and experience in backgrounding cattle and farming operation.
- Ability to lead by example in teamwork, work ethic, professionalism, and high moral standards

Experience with associated office duties

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of unforeseen variables as they arise

Clear and effective communicator both written and verbally. Bilingual a plus but not required.

Must be hospitable, trustworthy, self-motivated, proactive in taking initiative and able to work independently.

Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently.

Computer skills and inventory management skills required.
