A native of Scurry, Texas, Garrett Stribling developed a passion for livestock at an early age. Being actively involved in FFA, he showed market hogs and steers, but was always drawn to the ranching business. He worked all through high school for the Double TT Ranch – a purebred and commercial Santa Gertrudis operation – in Rosser, Texas.
Garrett attended Texas A&M University where he majored in Animal Science with an emphasis on beef cattle production. After graduation in 2016, he took a job as the Nutrition Manager at 44 Farms in Cameron, TX, the largest Registered Angus operation in the state of Texas. Beginning in January of 2017, Garrett became Assistant Manager of Cattle Operations for 44 Farms, managing both fall and spring calving herds. Only a few months later in June of that year, he was promoted to Manager of Cattle Operations. His duties included calving both the fall and spring herds, nutrition and grazing management, and artificial insemination of the registered herds as well as palpation. With four bull sales and one registered female sale a year, sale preparation and marketing were also a top priority.
In search of new challenges and with a desire to increase his knowledge of the ranching industry, Garrett applied to the King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management. He hopes to sharpen his skills as a ranch manager and become a leader in the industry. Garrett and his wife Emily look forward to this exciting new challenge.
