General Purpose of Job:
- Responsible for the farm, ranch, oil, gas, and real estate operations of the Endowment.
- Responsible for the farm, ranch, oil, gas, and real estate operations of Driscoll Health System.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing Farm, Ranch, and Real Estate operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.

- Negotiate farm leases for approval.
- Negotiate hunting leases for approval.
- Coordinate and supervise all hunting activity at Los Machos Ranch
- Responsible for maintenance of all Ranch assets.
- Maintain a plan and schedule for all Ranch improvements.
- Purchase supplies and equipment for Los Machos Ranch as needed.
- Regularly discuss, interface, and follow-up with Los Machos Ranch employees and contractors to ensure Ranch is properly maintained.
- Responsible for ensuring wildlife management program is in place, including engaging and interfacing with wildlife biologist(s), ensuring deer surveys are completed, annual harvest recommendations are followed, and filing required Managed Land Deer Permit and other regulatory filings.
- Work with farm tenants on planning, marketing, and farm maintenance decisions.
- Interface with cotton gins and grain elevators to ensure correct accounting and timely payment for crops.
- Interface with Farm Service Agency to ensure all foundation federal farm program participation is unencumbered.
- Evaluate and implement proper crop insurance for all foundation farm crops where crop insurance is available.
- Negotiate and collect crop damages from oil, gas, and utility construction activities.
- Negotiate annual planning of specialty crops to maximize farm income.
- Work with gins and grain elevators. Ensure that grain and cotton is put into appropriate farm accounts and paid for in a timely manner.
- Plan and execute marketing strategies for farm commodities.
- Work with oil and gas company lessees to coordinate construction and maintenance of roads, pipelines, tank batteries, compressor stations, metering sites, for the production of oil and gas on Driscoll properties.
- Coordinate seismic work and drilling activities on foundation properties.
- Coordinate proper maintenance of roads, drainage ditches, and waterways on Driscoll properties.
- Negotiate and interface with utility companies accessing Driscoll property with electrical or pipeline activity.
- Interface with the National Resource Conservation Service in Nueces, Duval, Jim Wells, and San Patricio counties to ensure Driscoll property is properly evaluated and structured to reduce water and wind erosion.
- Work with Office Manager on property appraisal accuracy each year.
- Negotiate contracts for usage/purchase of Driscoll land, such as billboard contracts, etc.
- All other duties associated with the Farm, Ranch, or Real Estate operations for Driscoll.
This position requires travel and employee must maintain valid driver license and insurability status at all times. A MVR will be run during pre-employment processes.
