Production Director of Beef & Lamb Operations – Miratorg Agribusiness Holding
Phil George has served as the Production Director of Beef and Lamb Operations for Miratorg Agribusiness Holding of Moscow, Russia since 2011. Miratorg is a privately owned, completely vertically integrated food company from the genetic stock to retail outlets. It is the largest meat producer in Russia. It controls 3 million acres in the regions that border Ukraine and Belarus. It has 2 pork plants, a broiler plant and a beef plant with a capacity of 10,000 head per week. It controls 3 million acres and annually plants 500,000 acres of corn, 250,000 acres of soybeans and 250,000 acres of wheat, barley and triticale. It has 350,000 mother cows and 3 feedlots with a total one-time capacity of 225,000 head.
George earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in animal science from Kansas State University and his PhD in Animal Science from Cornell University. He has previously served as an Assistant Professor of Animal Science at the University of Illinois, General Manager at Cross Mountain Ranch in Craig, Colorado, General Manager at Rollins Ranches in Okeechobee, Florida and Ranch Manager at Pine Valley Ranch in Halfway, Oregon.
He and his wife, Lynna, currently reside on the family’s ranch in Kansas that has been in the family for 154 years.
