Chance Clay is 7th generation on his family’s ranch in NE Florida. Growing up he worked with his family on their cow/calf operation. After attending St. Johns River Community College, he remained on the ranch and began to diversify the operation. Clay Ranch now consists of a cow/calf operation, stocker calf operation, commercial blueberry farm and timber production.
Chance is also heavily involved with the Florida Cattlemen’s Association. He served as State Director for Putnam County Cattlemen’s Association for six years. Chance currently is Chairman of FCA’s Research and Education committee. The primary roll of this committee is to act as a liaison between FCA and Researchers. Along with his involvement in the Cattlemen’s association he is involved with Florida Farm Bureau. He served a 2-year-term on Florida Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer and Rancher Leadership group.
Chance and his wife Sarah have a 2-year-old daughter named Lillian. They are also expecting another daughter, due in November. Chance’s goals are to continue to expand the ranching operation in hopes to pass it on to his children.
