Blake McDonald grew up on a cow/calf operation in Sullivan, MO. He was involved in both the Meat and Livestock Judging teams at the University of Missouri, where he majored in Animal Sciences with an Ag Economics minor, and later obtained a MS in Ruminant Nutrition.
Currently residing in Hallsville, MO, Blake is the managing partner of a cowherd consisting of both registered and commercial Angus and SimAngus cows. Bulls are marketed to commercial producers and steers and cull heifers are retained and marketed on a value-based grid. In addition to the herd in Hallsville, Blake works part-time for an Angus seedstock operation, assisting with marketing and customer realtions. Blake also remains involved in his family’s cattle operation, where he, alongside his dad and brother, also raise Angus and SimAngus cattle.
Blake and his wife, Emily, also own and operate 2M Beef, a direct-to-consumer beef marketing business. He enjoys spending time with his daughter, Clara, traveling to production sales, going to Mizzou sporting events, and being outdoors.
