Ashley Patterson, originally from Caldwell, Texas, joined the KRIRM staff in August of 2011 as the PR/Event Coordinator. In September of 2013, Ashley began in a new position as the Web and News Media Coordinator in which she handles the creation and distribution of all advertising and marketing materials for KRIRM, as well as manages the website and social media accounts. Recently, Ashley edited and produced a number of successful promotional videos for KRIRM events and master program recruitment. She looks forward to growing her skills in this area and broadening the reach of KRIRM through video marketing, but her truest passion is telling the story of KRIRM through words. Ashley’s favorite part of her job is writing features and content about KRIRM students, supporters, and the mission.

Ashley graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Leadership and Development (emphasis on public relations). She also earned a Master of Science in Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications, with an emphasis on agricultural communications and journalism in 2011, also from Texas A&M University. Ashley worked as a graduate assistant in the agricultural communications and journalism program where she was a teaching assistant for media writing, public relations, editing, technical writing, photography and web authoring classes. In addition to her teaching assignments, she also worked on research projects involving the communications field with fellow graduate students. During graduate school, she worked as a freelance writer for various agricultural magazines and publications.

Born and raised on a registered Brahman operation, Ashley grew up in the agricultural industry raising Brahman and commercial cattle. Her family continues to be deeply involved in the industry today.

Ashley and her husband, Boone (a high school athletic director and head football coach), were married in June of 2012 in College Station, Texas. In 2014 they were blessed with their son, Zayne. A few years later they welcomed their daughter, Brinson, in 2017.

Ashley enjoys reading, writing, cooking, and learning new skills in the area of videography and editing. The Patterson family enjoys spending time outdoors and being a part of a bigger family at Boone’s school as supporters of athletic and student programs.
