James Clement III
Chief Growth Officer and President of Grass and Rangeland – EarthOptics
James Clement III serves as the Chief Growth Officer and President of Grass and Rangeland at EarthOptics, an agricultural technology firm specializing in high-definition soil measurement, mapping, and analysis. In this role, he helps farmers and ranchers maximize the health, productivity, and value of their land by leveraging advanced data and navigating emerging ecosystem markets.
James comes from a long ranching tradition rooted in two of America’s historic ranching families, Beggs Cattle Company (est. 1876) and King Ranch (est. 1853). Today, James and his family continue that tradition at Los Hermanos Ranch (est. 1967) and on additional leased ranchland through Bloody Buckets Cattle Company, raising cattle and horses in South Texas. He has also served for more than 18 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, in both active and reserve service.
His work sits at the intersection of ranching, agricultural technology, conservation, and private land stewardship, with a focus on bringing practical innovation to America’s working lands.
James serves on the boards of Beggs Cattle Company, Ranchbot, The Land Board, the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the National Ranching Heritage Center, and the American Quarter Horse Association. He is also a Governor-appointed member of the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board.
James holds an MBA from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree from Goucher College. He and his family reside in Kleberg County, Texas.
