Lacey Maier from New Salem, North Dakota, grew up on a cow-calf operation. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with an Ag Business minor from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in 2010. During her time at NDSU, Lacey was also involved in the Feedlot Management Internship Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Since graduating from NDSU, Lacey returned to her family’s ranch in western North Dakota where they run 400 head of commercial Angus cows and operate a 1,500 head backgrounding yard. Alongside her parents, her sister and her sister’s family who have recently returned to the operation, Lacey is part of the fifth generation operation given the opportunity to manage the family ranch.

In addition to her responsibilities working on the ranch, Lacey helps area ranchers and is also a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary clinic. When time allows, she also enjoy helping young students in 4-H and FFA, and other various agriculture organizations.

Lacey enjoys the ranching lifestyle appreciates the opportunity to work with her family every day, as well as watch the next generation get excited about the future of the beef industry.
