King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management
Thinking about joining us in 2010? Here's what you need to know!

The King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management recruits mature and experienced students for its program. We encourage recent B.S. graduates to obtain at least 2 years of work experience in the ranching business before applying to the Institute. KRIRM accepts applications between January 1st and March 31st each year and selection of new students is held in April.  KRIRM graduates will receive a Master's in Science degree in Ranch Management upon completion.

Admission to the Program requires a B.S. degree with adequate course work in the field of interest and a score of at least 800 (Verbal + Quantitative) on the Graduate Requirement Exam (GRE) aptitude test. An undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better is required. Students must be accepted by a KRIRM graduate faculty member who agrees to guide the student’s program and serve as the major advisor. A student may be required to take a preliminary examination to determine proficiency and background information. Leveling courses may be required in areas where the applicant’s background is deficient.

The application process to the KRIRM is two-fold:

  • Students must first be accepted into the KRIRM program by an appointed subcommittee and the Institute’s Management Council
  • Students must then be accepted into the College of Graduate Studies at Texas A&M University-Kingsville
