Dave DeLaney is the Vice President and General Manager of Livestock and Ranching Operations for King Ranch, Inc. From 1992-2003, Dave worked with Friona Industries, L.P. where he served as General Manager between 1996 and 2003. Between 1984 and 1992, Dave was the Operations and Procurement Manager of Corsino Cattle Company of Amarillo, Texas. Dave has served on the Boards of Directors and on various committees for the Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA), the National Cattleman’s Beef Association (NCBA), and the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. | |

Lynn Drawe is the Director of the Welder Wildlife Foundation, and is responsible for overseeing its operations and 7,800-acre wildlife refuge in Sinton, Texas. He is best known for his research on plant community ecology, prescribed burning, and wildlife-livestock interactions, and native rangeland plants of south Texas. He authored and co-authored numerous publications on the native vegetation of south Texas, and consults on many of the region’s large and historic ranches. Lynn has received numerous distinguishing awards from the Society for Range Management, Texas Tech University, Utah State University, and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He also serves as adjunct faculty at both Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University, as well as here at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Lynn currently chairs the Texas Prescribed Burning Board, appointed by Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, which has written the rules for certification of prescribed burn managers in the state. | |

Dr. Benjamin Espy received a biology degree from Duke University in 1991. In 1996, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in veterinary medicine. During his career Dr. Espy has practiced medicine in Texas and in Lexington, KY at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute (formerly called Hagyard, Davidson, McGee Equine Associates). Hagyard’s is recognized worldwide as a leader in the field of equine fertility. Dr. Espy has been licensed to practice acupuncture for 12 years, is chairman of an AAEP committee, is on numerous AAEP task forces, is on the alternative therapy committee for the TVMA, is an animal treatment consultant for the PRCA, and is Board Certified in equine reproduction. | |

Paul Genho is the President for AgReserves, Inc. in Utah. He was the General Manager of King Ranch from 1998-2004, where he was responsible for managing cattle and wildlife on 825,000 acres in South Texas. He was also a catalyst in the development of the new King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. From 1981 to 1998, Paul managed Deseret Cattle and Citrus in Florida. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville; he also served as Adjunct Professor at Brigham Young University between 1998-2001, and at Utah State University between 1998-1999. He is actively involved in the beef and ranching industry, was President of the Florida Cattlemen's Association, has chaired committees for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, and has served on many other industry and government committees. He was recently nominated by Beef Magazine as one of the “Beef Top 40” most influential people in the beef development industry. | |

Mike Goodman received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1970, and he holds masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering (1972) and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1974). His thesis advisor at M.I.T. was Jay W. Forrester, founder of the System Dynamics field. Mike draws on over 30 years of expertise to create curriculum, lead courses and training in the arena of organizational learning and change, and help clients apply systems approaches to their critical business and organizational issues. He has published widely, authoring one of the first textbooks in the field, Study Notes in Systems Dynamics, and serving as the primary contributor to the Systems Thinking chapter in the acclaimed Fifth Discipline Fieldbook. Mike has also contributed numerous articles to The Dance of Change and to Schools that Learn. He also led the development of a web-based Systems Thinking course, Systems Thinking: A Language for Learning & Action. Mike is the Principal at Innovation Associates Organizational Learning. From 1985-2002 He served as an Associate Director and head of the Systems Thinking practice at Innovation Associates. Dr. Trey Patterson recieved his M.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University and his Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Nebraska. He served as an Extension Beef Specialist for South Dakota State University for five years. In this role, Trey led state wide extension programs in beef cattle nutrition and management. He also conducted research in the areas of management systems, water quality, and use of co-product feeds. Trey now has a position as Assistant to the CEO with Padlock Ranch Company, based out of Ranchester, Wyoming. In this position he works in operations management and works with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve profitability. | |

Her book, Waiting for Daylight, was released in 2003, and is a summary of her experiences working side by side with the people of King Ranch in South Texas, Argentina, Brazil, and Australia. Janell has graciously donated the use of these photos to the King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management for our website, gift cards, and special events. She is married to King Ranch family member "Tio" Kleberg, who is also the namesake for one of the prestigious KRIRM fellowships. | |

Tom Urban became interested in photography while enrolled at Texas A&M University. His experience as the 25-year lease manager for the Venada Camp on King Ranch combined with his skill as a naturalist has allowed him the opportunity to photograph the diverse wildlife of the region. His book, Wildlife of the King Ranch was published in commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of King Ranch in 2003.
